examination of the thyroid status

-observe the general composure:
normal,hyperactive,fidegty,restless.
-examine the hand:
shake hand with the patient,observe sweaty hand
check the pulse:brady/tachycardia,AF
look for thyroid acropachy(swallon fingers,clubbing,perioteal
new bone formation),palmer erythema.
assess for fine tremers of out streched arm
-examine the eyes:
observe from top and side
led lag/retraction
eye movement.
-examine the shin:
pretibial myxedema
-check for proximal myopathy
-check reflexes
-finish by asking the patient about:
temp preference
wt loss with increase apetite
bowel habits
palpitations
